Welcome to our three new students!
The children are making necklaces inspired by designs of traditional African Maasai necklaces. They are practicing making patterns, reinforcing their experience with alternating color and shape in their weaving art.
They have been listening to African lullabies as they work and have played African instruments.
With the path cleared in our playground, the children went outside. As many of you have heard from your children, if they had snow boots, they could venture into the snow; otherwise, there was plenty to do on the path. They made snow castles and snow cake (mostly vanilla with some chocolate chips).
Tomorrow, the children will find out that Sneaky Snake has taken all of the upper case letters. They will make new letters for our alphabet. Duck did not do his job!
Valentine's Day is coming up! We will decorate bags and have a small celebration on Friday, February 12th. We will also acknowledge Valentine's Day on Thursday for those who don't come on Friday.
If children want to bring cards, please bring them for the whole class. As some children don't come on Friday, please bring them by Wednesday, February 10th.
